Banksy’s true identity
August 21st, 2011 · No Comments
Banksy is regarded by many as the best-known artist alive today. All we know for certain is that he was born in the 70s, was heavily involved in Bristol’s underground graffiti scene in the 80s, and that his work can now be seen all over the world. He has self-published books, had his work exhibited at important galleries, directed an Oscar-nominated film, and recently had a show (Antics Roadshow) aired on Channel 4. Everyone knows the name Banksy, but only a tiny inner circle know his true identity. Speculation has been rife over the last few years, but does it really amount to anything more than rumour and guesswork?
